Cut from Color

Students explored color theory and value by creating faceted gemstone designs with tempera paint on chipboard. Students first developed tint and shade charts from a chosen base color, then applied those values to geometric forms to create the illusion of depth and dimension.

 

The project focused on color mixing, paint control, and understanding form through value.
